"It is not really that uncommon." R5 #462
I believe it has occurred.
I wouldn't speculate about the % of such reports that are substantially deliberately inaccurate.

Do we have jury-quality evidence most rape reports are not deliberately accurate?

The double-negative is a shopworn tool of the deceiver.

I've posted at sites such as Warlady's, with perhaps a dozen or more posters, BUT
they were in ideological lockstep, thus the dialogue rather dull.
I hope CV.us does not mirror that defect. OTO

I see little if any virtue in compounding the misery of trauma victims.
To avoid plausible semblance of impropriety, I grant benefit of doubt.

I have no idea the percentage, but given the social system we have, men want to brag about sex, while the women want to deny it.
Given factors like alcohol, some women likely are not even able to accept reality over it.
And the consequences males face over even allegations, make it all very confusing.

Wouldn't surprise me if some young women, impaired by benevolently intended efforts to confine her path to purity,
may have prevented her from learning how beverage ethanol can separate her behavior from her inhibitions.

I hope those are separate considerations.

Well, Cornell has company.

WELCOME TO YALE.

Federal crime statistics show Yale recorded 27 reported rapes in 2025. More than any other Ivy League school.

ALL 27 were classified as occurring in campus residential facilities.

TWENTY-SEVEN.

But wait. There’s more.

Yale’s separate report to Connecticut lawmakers documented 71 sexual-assault disclosures that year.

And the disciplinary outcomes?

Five sexual-assault cases. FOUR findings of NOT RESPONSIBLE. One complaint withdrawn.

AND HERE’S THE KICKER.

In 2024, ALL FIVE sexual-assault disciplinary cases ALSO ended with not-responsible findings.

Ten cases across two years. ZERO responsibility findings reported.

WHAT THE F*CK?

Now, before anyone starts mixing statistics like a bad cocktail, these numbers come from different reporting systems. Not every disclosure becomes a disciplinary case. Some people seek support without requesting an investigation.

Understood.

BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE ACTUALLY SEEKS ACCOUNTABILITY?

On October 2, Yale student Maddy Corson published a troubling account in The Yale Daily News.

She alleged she reported sexual assault, warned officials about a man entering a position of authority, and was told disciplinary proceedings would likely end unfavorably.

Her account hasn’t been independently verified.

Meanwhile, Yale emphasizes prevention training, reporting resources and campus safety.

Wonderful. Love a good training program.

NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT RESULTS.

Why two consecutive years without a responsibility finding in these disciplinary cases?

What happened during those proceedings? And how does Yale determine whether its system actually works?

We’re not declaring a cover-up.

WE’RE ASKING YALE TO EXPLAIN ITS OWN DAMN NUMBERS.

Because a prestigious name, billion-dollar resources and beautiful Gothic buildings don’t exempt an institution from uncomfortable questions.

Especially when those questions involve sexual assault.

I have no idea what those who there are allegations against face, but it seems then could not just be kicked out of school, but be prevented from entering a profession or marriage, due to the registry of sexual offenders.
Which may be valid sometimes, but could easily be abused.

Our partisan-saturated news feed can mislead us to perceive in binary:
- rich vs poor
- Republican vs Democrat
- cis vs trans
- conservative vs liberal
- etc

Sadly, extremism is a consequence of a failure of moderation.
On Jan. 6 our Capitol was rioted against by Trump pseudo-cons.
On Oct. 17 Limoges Tow Hall destroyed by an entirely separate group.
Rather than considering either of these a failure of ideology, conservatism or liberalism,
perhaps we should recognize them as the consequence of methodology.

"Those who consider the Devil to be a partisan of Evil and angels to be warriors for Good accept the demagogy of the angels. Things are clearly more complicated." Milan Kundera

Flame, constructive? To the phoenix, perhaps?

Sorry, but it seems deserved to me.
The police arrested 400, while beating and using water cannons on thousands of legal and non-violent protestors.
And while I know little about the protests, they were about education, and there were hundreds across the entire country, so this was not an appropriate police response.
It seems to me that volume of protests means it was over something legitimate, and the government over-reaction then was totally inappropriate.
And it is the police over-reaction that then escalated it to the level of anger that caused the arson.
The building was a symbol of the government, which now appears to be corrupt and evil?
After being beaten and hit with water cannons, I would want to burn down every government building in the entire country.

We should always listen to the president.
