Quotable Quotes

"I hope so. I mean, I think so. It could be. It could be the same or maybe a little bit higher. But it should be around the same. I think this won't be that much longer." ~ Trump, asked if the price of gas will drop before the midterms #2,020

anecdote:
I spend several hours per week on rural New York State roadways.
The amount and type of automobile traffic reveals detail about the economy.
Many of the automobiles encountered are either pickup trucks, or SUV, as
the environment isn't suited to more economical cars with lower ground clearance.
There seems to be fewer vehicles on local roads here, since Trump's automotive fuel price surge.

Also worth noting, this and adjacent counties are (or were) a Trump political stronghold.
TBD at November's ballot boxes:
what do my neighbor / voters value more?
- Trump's appealing lies? Or
- Trump's actual abysmal performance?

The answer to that is over a half year away.

"Um...maybe." ~ Doordash Grandma
I saw the vid of this apparently Trump-staged encounter (Trump just happened to have a $100 $bill).
It appeared Dd Gm was miked up, same style FM microphone television interview guests have installed on them before their segment is recorded.
That would serve as additional preparation, in addition to her knowing the delivery address: #1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

"I'll pardon everyone who has come within 200 feet of the Oval." ~ Trump, reassuring staff in recent meeting, to laughter #2,022
... and feel like a hero for reciprocating a fraction of the loyalty he demands from his criminal co-conspirators.

This confirms Trump's "us against them" worldview, that the law only matters when enforcement benefits Trump,
and otherwise can be disregarded / circumvented.

Thus my fellow law-&-order conservatives, the message here: vote early, vote often, vote Democrat

bonus Trump quotation, provided via broadcast radio sound-bite this April 15:
“I hate to be controversial, I wanna be uncontroversial.” President Trump 26/04/15
This guy could give Pinocchio lessons !

"And I'm sure he expensed that $100 so the taxpayer ended up paying." S2 #2,025
It may seem paradoxical that avarice and parsimony are both present in the same criminal. penny-pinching $Billionaire

tangential note:
I don't recall my most recent $cash transaction. It may have been years ago. - plastic is fantastic -

It costs $millions for the U.S. federal government to operate the Treasury Department, charged with filtering out of circulation worn-out $greenbacks, and otherwise maintaining U.S. $dollars in circulation.
Privately owned banks taking on the liability of credit card transactions provides reciprocal benefit, reduction in Treasury Department operating costs. BUT !
Credit card banks do not provide this service for $free. Instead they skim a credit card usage fee from such transactions. How $much?
During one of U.S.' previous fuel crises a published report indicated credit card banks earned more $profit per gallon on gasoline purchases than the brick-&-mortar gasoline station hosting the retail commerce.

Is the U.S. $greenback going obsolete?
In the previous millennium there were denominations up to $10,000 "available", even if not circulated in quite the same way lower denominations were.

$denominations have been reduced to the maximum $100.
Our penny is no longer manufactured.
Recognize the trend?
